Pakistan Gems: a mobile-first store for natural gemstones

Pakistan Gems is an online store for certified natural gemstones and jewellery sourced from Swat, Hunza and Balochistan. I built the website, with collections that help customers find a stone by the way they actually think about it.

The brief

People shop for gemstones in different ways. Some know the stone they want. Others are looking for their birthstone or a stone for their zodiac sign. A plain list of products makes all of them work harder than they should.

Most of these shoppers are on their phones, so the store has to feel natural on a small screen.

What I built

  • Collections organised three ways: by stone, by birthstone and by zodiac sign, so shoppers can start from whichever idea they have.
  • Gemstone finder tools that help customers narrow a large catalogue down to a short list.
  • Product and collection pages designed for browsing on a phone first, then scaled up for larger screens.
  • A site that the owner's team can manage, built on WordPress and Elementor.

What I paid attention to

  • Gemstones are bought on trust and detail, so product pages need photos and information that have room to breathe.
  • Finder tools and collections reduce the number of steps between arriving and seeing something relevant.
  • Fast, light pages matter for a shop where image-heavy product pages could easily become slow.
